This summer, we want to bring people together for SRUK Summer at Home and raise vital funds

We know things seem strange right now and your summer looks different. That's why we're inviting you to host your own special summertime event. It's the perfect way to get together with friends and family - in a socially distanced way – enjoy our Great British summer, have fun and raise important funds for SRUK.

SRUK Summer at Home is your event, done your way – it can be anything you want it to be if it evokes the feeling of summer for you - because being at home this summer, doesn't mean missing out.

You can be as creative as you like (or not!) - it can be in your home or garden, on a video call or even in your local park.

Festival at home

Has your favourite festival been cancelled? Then bring the summer festival feeling to your home! We have the sunshine (let's be optimistic) so put together some festival food, play music, gather a small group of friends and you're all set for your very own Glasto-style festival at home – let's leave the smelly wellies and mud for the real thing!

Host in your garden, in your park, or online.

Afternoon tea

Arrange an afternoon tea at home. Freshly baked scones, strawberry jam and lashings of clotted cream is always a winning combination. All you need is an afternoon of sunshine and the good company of one or two friends.

If the sun is shining this is definitely one for the garden - and if the heavens open, don't panic! You can easily host this one inside too.

Traditional British summer

Create a themed get together around a traditional British summer – we're thinking glasses of Pimm's, the smell of sizzling sausages on a barbecue and delicious strawberry punnets.

You just need your bunting and you'll be ready to host in your garden!

Picnic in the park

Picnic in the park (or garden!) Make your own luxury hamper with lots of summer treats, head to your local park and soak up the summer sun with friends. But remember the picnic blanket - it's usually the thing everyone forgets!

Summer fancy dress

Get your beach towel out and your hula on and host a summer fancy dress! Make your event a summer scorcher with some outrageous Hawaiian shirts, beach hats and silly inflatables. Pretend that you're on that exotic holiday, or that beautiful beach and reminisce about past holiday memories! Perfect for the garden loungers out there who enjoy the heat of the summer sun, but also makes a great themed virtual get together.
