Senior Individual Giving Fundraiser

Since our merger in 2016, our individual and in memory income has grown year on year, and this is your opportunity to use your expertise and initiative to sustain and increase this growth. You will be using an audience-led approach to identify and create new and innovative opportunities - developing campaigns and appeals from scratch and taking them through a full implementation and evaluation process. You will work with the Head of Fundraising and Communications and the wider team to create a transformational impact on our work.

Working with the Head of Fundraising and Communications you will:

  • Implement and shape the strategy for Individual giving and in memory fundraising to increase the retention, acquisition and lifetime value of our supporters.
  • Develop the current established membership programme to ensure current members are engaged and stewarded and plan the future growth of the programme.
  • Implement tailored supporter journeys and stewardship plans tailored to in memory givers, donors of different levels and regular givers.
  • Develop Acquisition and retention programmes – harnessing the awareness month campaigns and establish a giving/ appeals calendar
  • Continually assess and evaluate the effectiveness of the individual giving programme, being innovative and making recommendations to ensure that we are maximising our income and reach

SRUK is a small team so working collaboratively and being a team player are essential skills. Our roles are a mixture of being very hands-on in order to get things done and working strategically to ensure that SRUK meets its long-term objectives .The successful candidate will be an experienced and innovative individual giving fundraiser with the ability to inspire and motivate fundraisers and develop new opportunities and initiatives.

Head of Research

This role is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and ambitious individual to deliver our research priorities, as set out in our innovative five-year research strategy.

Scleroderma & Raynaud's UK (SRUK) is the only charity dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by scleroderma and Raynaud's, both auto-immune, connective tissue conditions. We exist to improve awareness and understanding of these conditions, to support those affected, and ultimately to find a cure.

We work to deliver activities across four key themes: Empowerment, Awareness, Healthcare and Research. We believe that our work across these areas will bring about real and lasting change for people living with scleroderma and Raynaud's.

We are now at a very exciting point in our organization's journey towards ensuring that no one has to have their life limited by scleroderma and Raynaud's. We have had our innovative five-year Research Strategy approved by our Board of Trustees, and so we are now seeking an exceptional individual to help us deliver this ambitious package of work.

The Head of Research will work closely with the Chief Executive as part of the Senior Management Team to implement and deliver a research strategy that is aimed at accelerating the benefits of research to patients sooner.

Role overview

Working across the organization, the Head of Research will:

  • Implement and deliver priorities of the SRUK Research Strategy. In the immediate instance, this includes the creation of the SRUK Patient Registry and delivery of two key industry partnerships
  • Oversee and manage the SRUK Grant Awards process, in line with AMRC guidelines. This includes oversight of SRUK co-funded schemes, research portfolio management and scientific communication of research into scleroderma and Raynaud's
  • Contribute to the development and growth of SRUK as a key member of the Senior Management Team (SMT), working collaboratively and effectively with the Head of Fundraising and Communications, and the Head of Operations in order to support the Chief Executive in organizational development

As Head of Research, you will play a key role in driving the delivery of research that will achieve life changing results for people with scleroderma and Raynaud's, working closely with those affected and the medical and scientific community. You will have proven experience of biomedical and/or epidemiological research, a clear understanding of the research grant funding process, excellent communication skills and the ability to build successful partnerships across health care and/or research sectors. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious individual who is looking to progress into senior management and be responsible for a research department.

We are looking for individuals with a desire to create positive change and to make a real difference to the lives of people with Raynaud's and scleroderma.
