As the government states, Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for children may help with the extra costs of looking after a child who:

  • is under 16
  • has difficulties walking or needs much more looking after than a child of the same age who does not have a disability

It is for children who need more care and supervision than children of the same age.

The rate is between £29.20 and £187.45 a week.

For Scotland, you will need to apply to Child Disability Payment instead.
