Why we need you

Are you a passionate videographer looking to use your skills to make an impact? We're looking for an enthusiastic and creative individual to shoot and edit various types of videos to be used on our website, social media platforms and at our events. We are looking for a highly skilled and creative individual with a passion for story telling, who will help us share the vision of SRUK to a wider audience.

What will I be doing?

Your role will be to film a wide array of footage such as interviews with individuals affected by Scleroderma and Raynaud's and their friends and family. As well as our events participants, our conferences and community led events.

You will edit and arrange footage, with input from a member of the SRUK team, to create an engaging video which furthers the aims of the charity. This footage will then be shared on our website, social media platforms and at other SRUK events.

What skills and attributes do I need?

  • Have a high standard of filming and editing experience
  • Have access to and knowledge of editing software
  • Have a good eye for shots and the ability to use a camera for filming purposes
  • Enthusiasm and the willingness to work independently and show initiative

  • How much time do I need to commit?

    We ask that you be able to commit around 8 hours a month to the charity.

    What support will I be given?

    Volunteers will be given a full brief for any requested filming along with the aim and use of the video being discussed, prior to day of filming. They will work closely with a member of the SRUK team every step of the way. This role will be very varied with constant communication between you and your SRUK line manager, so all filming takes place when is most convenient for you and fits in with your other commitments.

    Volunteers will receive an induction into the charity.

    Where will I be based?

    You will be visiting a variety of locations and events with a member of the SRUK team so this will vary.

    Additional information

    Lunch and refreshments will be provided if appropriate.

    Travel expenses will be covered, in line with SRUK's expenses policy.

    Volunteers must be able to demonstrate their work as part of the application process.

    Please be aware that if you are successful you must be able to provide two references and may require a DBS check.
