Great North Run 2021
Sadly, the Great North Run 2020 has been cancelled. This means the 40th Great North Run will now be held on the provisional date of Sunday 12th September 2021.
Join #TeamSRUK and take up the 40th Great North Run for what is set to be their boldest event yet, with a whole host of exciting new activities and experiences for runners, spectators and visitors planned.
Starting in Newcastle upon Tyne, the 13.1 mile route takes runners through the city centre towards the River Tyne where thousands of people will cross over the iconic Tyne Bridge. From there, runners will travel through Gateshead.
Since its first staging, it has grown into the world's largest half marathon and UK's biggest running event with 57,000 runners annually. Almost nothing beats the atmosphere on the day of the Great North Run!
