Dr Francesco Del Galdo

In July 2017, we set up a mobile clinic in collaboration with scleroderma and Raynaud's specialist, Dr. Francesco Del Galdo, to help to raise awareness of both Raynaud's and scleroderma.

Our mobile clinic was based in Briggate Street in Leeds shopping centre, to offer an on-site diagnosis test for Raynaud's, along with information on scleroderma and obtaining a referral. Anyone in the area who had concerns about symptoms was given the opportunity to drop in to talk to our team and take the five- minute non-invasive Raynaud's test.

We talked to Francesco Del Galdo to find out more about the clinic and how this supports a longer-term research project. Here are the questions that we asked him:

  • Please could you tell us more about what your team will be looking at in the mobile clinic?
  • What tests will you perform in the mobile clinic and please could you give some detail as to what this would involve?
  • Please tell us what someone who enters the clinic can expect?
  • Can you tell us a bit more about the research you will be working on?
  • What are you hoping to achieve for your research?
  • How is the mobile clinic supporting your research study?
  • Will the research be published? And if so, where and when should we look out for it?
  • If people can't make it to visit us in Leeds, what should they do if they are worried they have symptoms?
  • How can GPs or medical practitioners find out more if they need to?
