Localised Scleroderma: (also known as morphoea). This only affects the skin, causing one or more patches of hardened skin to develop on the body. There are many different types of localised scleroderma, which vary significantly in terms of their severity.

Systemic Scleroderma: (more commonly referred to as systemic sclerosis). This affects the internal organs, as well as the skin.  There are two main types – limited and diffuse.
